Rising Hegemon’s Attaturk cracks me up.
Yes, that’s the same “Mean Jean” Schmidt who in August narrowly defended her seat, in a historically Republican district, against Democratic challenger and Iraq war veteran Paul Hackett. This week she caused a bit of a stir in the House by questioning the courage of Congressman Jack Murtha:
He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message - that cowards cut and run, Marines never do.
She later asked to have her remarks stricken from the record. How courageous of her.
On the other hand, Murtha’s cowardice is well-known and exemplified by his 37-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps, during which he was awarded a Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
Where are the Swift Boat Veterans when we need them? Thank God we have patriots like Jean Schmidt around to protect us from weak-kneed traitors like Murtha.
This stuff really gets old.
