I Thought I Was Gay Until I Saw This Billboard
(KSDK-TV, ksdk.com)
A billboard promising to change homosexuals has caught the attention of several drivers on local highways. The billboards are associated with Focus on the Family-an organization calling itself a Christian group promoting family values.
The billboards are positioned along major interstates in the St. Louis area. They are sponsored by a group tied to the organization Focus On The Family. Their website promotes the belief homosexuality is preventable and treatable. The billboards coincide with a conference on the issue that will be held in Manchester.
It makes some sense — in a perverse kind of way. If we can successfully market Hot Pockets and beetle carcass yogurt, we can sell anything, right?
My wife and kids will be relieved to hear of this. Had I not seen that sign, Valentine’s Day would have been really unpleasant for us this year.

What’s the deal with all the websites using books of the bible in their name to preach their Christian fundamentalist messages? Have you seen www.answersingenesis.org/?

I have now. Yikes.
The “Best Proof of Creation” bit is not exactly thought provoking. And what’s with the dinosaurs? I don’t recall reading about them in the Bible, Genesis or elsewhere.
