Friday Frivolity
A MOsanthrope tradition since February!
As always, if you’re looking for obtuse political commentary and trite observation, I suggest that you skip to the next post using the scroll bar at right. There’s no one here but us shenanigans.
Building a modest automobile manufacturing company into one of the largest corporations on the planet with a market capitalization of roughly $12 billion? 98 years, a lot of hard work and some quality marketing.
Sponsoring a contest to solicit amateur ads for your newly redesigned gas-guzzling SUV? Um… I dunno… whatever some bandwidth, a web site, a marketing contract and this costs:
Jackson Hole Getaway: Summer Excursion or Winter Retreat…. Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Speedway or Major League Baseball All-Star Game Getaway…. Country Music Association Awards or another Red Carpet Music Event.
Inadvertently publishing a highly critical submission by some sarcastic malcontent on your own contest web site?
Priceless. (Via Crooks and Liars).
Justin over at The Nose Knows is again seeking feedback before publishing his latest “Crazy State Power Rankings.” My fellow Missourians, we were robbed last time. Don’t let me down. Be sure to mention this wacko in your nomination speech.
Alright, Mr. Smarty Pants, why don’t you fix the federal budget! (Hat tip: Tully over at Centerfield).
The most flagrant example of bait and switch advertising ever.
Outstanding. (Via blah blah blog).
Sometimes, fantasy is much, much better than reality.
A guy’s gotta’ have his standards. (Readers are encouraged to check their satire fluid levels before clicking on that one. — Ed.)
Define “social drinking.” (Thanks to Steve).
You can’t fix stupid.
He’s no Dick.
You missed that warning label? (Via Dave Barry’s Blog).
I look forward to the Lou Dobbs “Broken Borders” exclusive.
But can he also be married in his sleep?
Quote of the Day
Can any of you seriously say the Bill of Rights could get through Congress today? It wouldn’t even get out of committee.
Have a great weekend!
