Hang Up and Drive!
Seriously, this stuff has to stop:
A distracted driver swerved in her vehicle Tuesday, hitting and seriously injuring a 3-year-old boy who was playing in his front yard.
St. Charles County Sheriff Tom Neer said the 30-year-old female was driving about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Oakborough Drive in the Field Crest subdivision, in unincorporated St. Charles County near Wentzville. Her cell phone rang while she was driving and in the time she was distracted to answer it, she veered off the road and into the edge of the yard where 3-year-old Levi Holmes was riding a tricycle, Neer said.
The woman had driven 45 to 50 feet before she realized she hit the child, who was dragged that entire distance, Neer said.
My wife hopes it was an important call.
